Dr. Alexandra Segal
Dr. Alexandra Segal, C.Psych. completed her B.A. in Psychology at the University of California, Berkeley and went on to complete her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology in New York City. Dr. Segal has completed the Core Curriculum at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy. Most recently, she completed training in Animal Assisted Therapy at Harcum College. Dr. Segal is registered for practice in both Clinical Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
Upon moving to Ottawa, Dr. Segal worked at Bruyère Continuing Care where she was the Professional Leader of the Psychology Department. In her 10 years with the organization, she provided evidence based Clinical Neuropsychology and Clinical Psychology services to the Palliative Care Unit, the Memory Disorder Clinic, the Complex Continuing Care program, and the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit. She also provided intervention, education, and consultation to the inpatient Bariatric program at St. Vincent Hospital.
Dr. Segal is available to provide assessment and treatment on issues such as body image, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, and chronic illness. This helps people with areas of their lives that can have a significant impact on lifestyle and weight.
