Greek Turkey Burgers with Spinach and Red Onion

It’s summer time and if you’re lucky enough to have a BBQ you have probably been grilling up a storm. Give these delicious turkey burgers a try for a super flavourful and unique alternative to the store-bought kind. With only 6 ingredients they come together quickly on busy nights.

Note, if you don’t have a grill (like me) these can just as easily be pan-fried or baked!

Makes 4 burgers

Ingredients for burgers:

1/3 cup chopped fresh mint
2 tsp paprika
¾ tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp salt
1 egg
1 1/3lb lean ground turkey
4 whole grain hamburger buns (or try it the burgers on top of your favourite whole grain, like quinoa or whole grain rice

Toppings:
Spinach leaves
Red onion, sliced

Instructions:

Mix the first 6 ingredients together in a large bowl until well combined.

Shape into four ¾” thick patties.

Cook the burgers on the grill for 6-7 minutes turning once, or in a pan on medium high heat for about 4 minutes per side. Make sure burgers are fully cooked through (the inside of the burgers should reach a temperature of 165 F).

Place on a bun or on top of your whole grain of choice and top with spinach leaves and sliced red onion.
