Let's Eat Together!

Have you ever thought about how your eating habits differ between when you are enjoying a meal with family or friends compared to when you eat alone? Are you distracting yourself with technology to combat loneliness? Are you eating on the go because your schedule doesn’t allow you to sit down for a meal? How would this change if you had someone to accompany you at the table?

For children, it is recommended to eat as a family to enhance nutrition, quality of relationships and even self esteem. But as adults, we become busy and often forget to surround ourselves with people who could enrich our meal experiences, and in turn our health.

Eating together can help us slow down, enjoy the food in front of us, practice mindfulness of portions and variety of foods... and those are just some of the nutritional advantages!

Not only will you strengthen your physical health when you surround yourself with a loving family member or caring friend, but your mental health can benefit too!
